What is cili padi?

Cili padi, also known as bird's eye chili, is a small and extremely spicy chili pepper that is commonly used in South-East Asian cuisine. It is widely grown in tropical and subtropical regions, particularly in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The chili is thin, about 2-3 cm long, and green or red in color when it is mature. Cili padi is used in a variety of dishes and is often added for flavor and as a natural spice to increase the heat and spiciness of the food. The chili is also said to have health benefits, including as an antioxidant and as a natural pain reliever. However, it should be used with caution as its intense heat can cause discomfort or even harm if ingested in large amounts.
